DDH Forums

forum Forums provide an occasion for students and friends of the House to learn from and converse with scholars of religion and church leaders. Speakers present work in progress or to comment on current events in an informal setting. The House community, in turn, has the opportunity to engage ideas thoroughly and to further understanding and constructive action.

Forums take place immediately after the weekly Monday dinners. Typically, a presentation is followed by questions and conversation. Forums address a range of topics and perspectives. Recent speakers include: Simeon Chavel, Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible at the Divinity School; Mark Anderson, President of the National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); Franklin Gamwell, Shailer Matthews Professor in the Divinity School; Ronald J. Allen, Nettie Sweeney and Hugh Th. Miller Professor of Preaching & New Testament, Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, and Clark M. Williamson, Indiana Professor of Christian Thought Emeritus, ChristianTheological Seminary, alumnus and DDH Trustee; Alisha Lola Jones, PhD candidate in ethnomusicology at the University of Chicago.

Please see the calendar for upcoming events.
