DDH Forums
Forums provide an occasion for students and friends of the House to learn from and converse with scholars of religion and church leaders. Speakers present work in progress or to comment on current events in an informal setting. The House community, in turn, has the opportunity to engage ideas thoroughly and to further understanding and constructive action.
Forums take place immediately after the weekly Monday dinners. Typically, a presentation is followed by questions and conversation. Forums address a range of topics and perspectives. Recent speakers include: Willemien Otten, Professor of the Theology and History of Christianity at the Divinity School; David Vargas, President of the Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a DDH alumnus and trustee; Don Browning, Alexander Campbell Professor Emeritus in the Divinity School and an alumnus, trustee and former dean of the Disciples Divinity House; and Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
