Alumni/ae Council
The Alumni/ae Council works to strengthen the relations among alumni/ae and with current Disciples Divinity House Scholars, and thus to support the work of the Disciples Divinity House.
Every other year the Council hosts a luncheon for alumni/ae and friends at the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This year it will be held on August 1 in Indianapolis. Don Browning will be honored at the luncheon with the Distinguished Alumnus/a Award.
Past projects include planning for the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Chapel of the Holy Grail. For the occasion, they initiated a collection of prayers by alumni/ae and trustees, which was published as Winged Words: Prayers for Common Worship & Common Life.
The Alumni/ae Council is composed of twelve members who are elected to four year terms. A slate of member classes and of officers is elected every two years. The Council meets annually in late April.
The current officers are Marshall Dunn, President, Amy Lignitz Harken, Vice President, and Angela Kaufman, Secretary. The President of the Alumni/ae Council is also an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees, with vote.
