Larry D. Bouchard, President of the Board of Trustees

Larry Bouchard Larry Bouchard joined the Board of Trustees in 1997 and has served as its president since 2005. He entered the University of Chicago as a Disciples House Scholar in the autumn of 1974, having received his B.A. from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. In 1984 he received the Ph.D. from the Divinity School in Religion and Literature.

Professor Bouchard taught at Eureka College in Illinois from 1980-83 and joined the Religious Studies Department of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1984, where he is currently Associate Professor. He is author of Tragic Method and Tragic Theology: Evil in Contemporary Drama and Religious Thought and, with alumnus L. Dale Richesin, is co-editor of Interpreting Disciples: Practical Theology in the Disciples of Christ. Of late he has published articles and chapters concerning theatrical drama and integrity, as well as on tragedy and ethics.

Larry and his wife Margaret Galloway have three children, Micah, Austin, and Katherine.
