Ecumenical Community and Housing
The Disciples Divinity House presents many advantages and opportunities for those seeking a community-oriented housing arrangement while studying at the Divinity School. Community members participate in regular programs and events, and elect a House Council. The Willett Library and the Chapel of the Holy Grail together with other common spaces undergird personal and shared life at "the House."
Rent is partially subsidized so that the accommodations are among the most affordable in the University. They are also among the most convenient: DDH is immediately adjacent to the main quadrangle and to Regenstein Library.
Students in the Divinity School may apply for residence. Occasionally rooms are rented to graduate students in other University departments. Rooms may also be rented by members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who are studying in other graduate programs in and around the University.
Rent includes free laundry facilities, wireless and ethernet access, the cost of Monday dinners, and other amenities. Rooms are furnished. Rent for the 2012-13 academic year is $1,725 per quarter. Rooms are normally available for the full academic year only with the option of extending rental through the summer.
To join the ecumenical student community and apply to rent a bedroom-study, apply now online (or print the application-pdf and fax to 773.643.4413). Applications are reviewed by the student House Council beginning in May for the coming academic year.
