Student Housing
The Disciples Divinity House presents many advantages and opportunities for those seeking a community-oriented housing arrangement while studying at the Divinity School. Residents participate in community decisions and events, including Monday programs, and have full access to the resources of the library and the chapel.
Rent is partially subsidized so that the accommodations are among the most affordable in the University. The accommodations are also among the most convenient because DDH is immediately adjacent to the main quadrangle and to Regenstein Library.
Students in the Divinity School may apply for residence. Occasionally rooms are rented to graduate students in other University departments. Rooms may also be rented by members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who are studying in other graduate programs in and around the University.
Rent includes free laundry facilities, wireless and ethernet access, the cost of Monday dinners, and other amenities. Rooms are furnished. Rent for the 2009-10 academic year is $1,600 per quarter. Rooms are normally available for the full academic year only with the option of extending rental through the summer.
To apply to to rent a bedroom-study and join the ecumenical student community, submit the application by email or fax (773.643.4413). Applications are reviewed by the student House Council beginning in May for the subsequent academic year. All rooms are filled for fall 2009. Occasionally a room becomes available beginning in the winter or spring quarter.
