The Disciples Divinity House is located at 1156 East 57th Street, between Woodlawn and University Avenues. It is adjacent to the University’s main quadrangle, one block east of the University’s Regenstein Library, and immediately across the street from the Quadrangle Club. Enter the House on the east side of the courtyard (to the right when the street is behind you); University Church is on the west side of the courtyard.

On-street parking is free, but you may have to park several blocks away if classes are in session. Drivers can drop off passengers in front of the building. Paid visitor parking is available in the University’s Campus North Parking (on Ellis Avenue), and other locations listed on the University visitor parking website.

Exit to 57th Street and the Museum of Science and Industry. Follow the signs toward the University of Chicago. You will pass the Museum on your left, and continue south as 57th Street becomes Cornell Drive. Stay in the right lane to merge onto Midway Plaisance Drive, a park-like boulevard running east-west between 59th and 61st Streets. After a half mile, at the Woodlawn Avenue light, turn right and proceed north to 57th Street, where you will turn left. DDH is on the right.

Exit at Garfield Boulevard (55th Street), turn east onto Garfield. After Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Garfield/55th winds through Washington Park; at the “Y” in the road, stay to the right and, after another block or so, turn left on 57th Street. Drive past the Regenstein Library (to your left) and the main quadrangle (to your right) to 1156 East 57th Street (on the left).

A taxi, Uber, or Lyft is the quickest option. Be sure to allow for extra travel time if you are departing during morning or evening commuting times.

In addition, the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) bus #55/Garfield runs on 55th Street between the University and Midway Airport; a single ride fare card is $2.25 for the bus or $5.00 for a one-day pass and the trip usually takes an hour or so. When you are near campus, look for the Woodlawn or University stops and get off there. Walk two blocks south to 57th Street, and turn there to find DDH between Woodlawn and University Avenues.
